Huntsville High School students are going to Prom tonight

It’s Prom Night in Huntsville and the OPP is hoping parents are aware of where their kids are going. Huntsville Constable OPP Lynda Cranney says it’s understandable students want to celebrate their graduation. But, it’s important you know what your kids are planning.

Cranney says students should make plans to be safe. She says if you’re going out after prom, one of the best things you can do is not leave your friend hanging.

This public outreach to students and their parents stems from an incident that happened two weeks ago in Haliburton Highlands. A house party at a cottage has had about 150 people with some underage drinking. It turned out the owners had no idea the party was going on. Damage was estimated at $25,000.

A 16-year-old teen from Minden faces mischief and break and enter charges. The kid may face more charges as the investigation continues.
