Stay protected against West Nile virus!

The Muskoka District Health Unit (MDHU) is reminding residents to stay protected against West Nile virus. According to the MDHU, mosquitoes like to breed in pools of standing water. You can protect yourself and your family from West Nile virus by reducing breeding sites on your property. Remember to drain pooled water from old tires, plastic containers, wading pools, wheelbarrows and clogged rain gutters. Health officials also recommend that you change the water in bird baths each week and put screens on rain barrels.
