Police charge man for distracted driving during a RIDE check

A Seguin man has been charged with driving while suspended and for using a cell phone while driving. Police were conducting a RIDE check at the intersection of Oastler Park Drive and Rankin Lake Road Saturday night when a pick-up truck approached just before 10:30pm. The truck stopped abruptly and officers noticed a cell phone in the driver’s hand. It was later revealed that the driver also had a suspended licence. The 45-year-old man has been charged with drive while using a hand held device and driving under suspension and will answer to those charges April 29th.
