Computer scam reported in Huntsville

There have been reports of a computer scam going around in Huntsville. The Huntsville OPP says victims would get a call from someone claiming to be from Microsoft. The scammers would tell victims there is a virus on their computer or it’s running slow and ask for remote access to fix the issue for a fee. Credit card charges ranged from $35 to $469 and are debited by banks in the US, Germany, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Mauritius and Iceland.  If you think you or someone you know has been a victim of fraud please contact the Canadian Anti‐Fraud Centre 1‐888‐495‐8501 or www.antifraudcentre.ca.
