Restaurant reopens after serving COVID-19 positive customer

HUNTSVILLE, ON-3 Guys and a Stove in Huntsville have reopened their doors after serving a group of people who tested positive for COVID-19.

During the August long weekend, a group of 30 people from outside the area visited both the restaurant and Deerhurst resort. When they returned home, 11 of them tested positive for the virus, and when the restaurant received word from the health unit, they opted to close their doors.

Owner-Chef Jeff Suddaby said they were not required to close but felt it was the right thing to do. “The goal was to suspend service until all staff members could be tested. We have taken advantage of this opportunity to give the restaurant another deep-clean. When we reopen, it will be with confidence and a feeling of well-being for all.”

Suddaby noted the support they have received from the community and seasonal residents has been fantastic, and the health unit has been great in their communication, resources and speed of testing.

“Our whole team is very grateful to our Public Health workers and everyone who has stood beside us through this challenging time.”
