Careless driving charge laid after rock cut crash on Hwy 69

On December 22nd, OPP investigated a collision where a vehicle hit a rock cut on Hwy 69. At 3:55 pm that day, a brown vehicle was travelling northbound on 69 and drove off the road causing massive damage to the vehicle. There was no evidence of braking and the vehicle had crossed over the southbound lane entering the west ditch where it then struck a rock cut and rolled onto its roof.

The driver, 35 yr old Carlos Guererro-Azocas of Chile has been charged with Careless Driving. The four occupants, driver and three female occupants, ages 37, 25 and 1 were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation continues. Highway 69 was reopened at 10:43 p.m. the same day.
