Hockey Canada Skills Academy expands training for young athletes

St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School is looking to offer more training to young hockey players in the Muskoka region.
Head of Physical Education at the School Dan Blum says the new Hockey Canada Skills Academy program will offer these kids an opportunity to expand their training.
The program will offer a balance between time on the ice and time spent in the classroom.
Students will be expected to complete assignments and an exam to gain their two credits for the course.
The program will start out being offered to grade nine and 10 students next school year but will expand to grades 11 and 12.
