Ontario Red Coaching Staff Proud of Undefeated Gold Medal Win

Team Ontario Red finished the Under-18 National Women’s Hockey Tournament an undefeated 5-0 after beating Manitoba 2-1.

After leading through two periods in Sunday nights gold medal game, Ontario Red allowed a tough goal when their goaltender Stephanie Neatby missed a pass from behind her net giving Manitoba a wide-open net to score. Despite the tough goal, Head Coach Jessica Turi says her team showed dominance.

She explains how amazing it was to win gold on Ontario soil, especially in Huntsville.

Both Manitoba and Ontario Red squared off on Friday night in the final match-up of the round robin games. Ontario trailed 4-1 with less than 10 minutes to go. Only to score three straight times and once more in overtime.
