Today is We Can Play Day

Huntsville is one of 30 communities in Canada taking part in the Play Academy today.

Hosted by The Right to Play organization and the Huntsville Sport Council, 100 Grades 5 to 12 student leaders from a number of feeder schools to Huntsville are taking part. These leaders will learn a variety of games and then take these lessons back to their schools to lead an event on May 8th. It’s happening at the Jack Bionda Arena from 9am until noon.

The Right to Play is a not-for-profit organization that helps kids build stronger and safe communities through play. Right to Play and The United Nations have declared today ‘We Can Play Day’, where kids from around the world will participate in student-lead play. The Huntsville Sport Council is sponsoring this event. For more information on Right to Play, go to their website.
