Lakeland EV Charging adds four new fast chargers along Highway 60

Lakeland EV Charging has installed four new fast-charging ports at a station along Highway 60.

The charging station is located along Highway 60, east of downtown Huntsville on the District of Muskoka’s water treatment plant property.

Officials said the new charging ports were installed through a partnership between Lakeland EV Charging and the District of Muskoka, with funding from Natural Resources Canada and the province’s ChargeON program.

“This partnership helps make EV travel more accessible for residents and visitors while supporting Muskoka’s tourism economy,” said Lauren Saville, Community Climate Initiatives Coordinator with the District of Muskoka. “By making District property available for the station, we are helping add dependable charging on an important route through our region and toward Algonquin Park.”

Officials said through the partnership, the District is providing Lakeland the Highway 60 site at no cost under a long-term lease.

According to officials, the station features four 240-kW fast-charging ports, including two CCS connectors and two NACS connectors, making it one of the first Lakeland EV Charging sites to offer both connector types.

Officials said the site marks the partnership’s second charging location, following the installation of four Level 2 charging ports at The Pines, the District’s long-term care home, in 2025.
