District of Muskoka to host a careers expo on Oct. 6

The District of Muskoka is hosting the Muskoka Care Careers Expo on Oct. 6 at the Active Living Centre in Huntsville.

The free event will run from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Officials said the event aims to give community members an opportunity to explore career opportunities in health care, early learning, clinical services, mental health, paramedicine, community services, and more.

“Care professions are an important part of Muskoka’s economy,” said officials. “Building a strong local care workforce helps ensure these important services are available for families and individuals across Muskoka.”

According to the district, the expo will give attendees the opportunity to meet with local employers and organizations, explore different careers and pathways, learn about current and future job opportunities, and ask questions about education, training and qualifications.

The event will also provide an opportunity for participants to make connections that could lead to future career opportunities.
