The Bracebridge Fall Fair will take place Sept. 18 to 20 at J.D. Lang Activity Park.
The event, organized by the Bracebridge Agricultural Society, will run from 5 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 18, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sept. 19, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 20.
Dave Nichols, president of the society, said the event aims to promote awareness of agriculture and the environment through education and opportunities that enhance the quality of life for people in the community.
Nichols said this year’s fair will celebrate its 156th anniversary, continuing a longstanding tradition of bringing locals and visitors together to celebrate the farming season, showcase community harvests and handiwork, and enjoy entertainment and activities.
He said the event also supports the local economy, as visitors from outside Muskoka stay at local hotels and motels and spend money on area businesses.
“On three perfect days, we’re pushing probably 50, to 60,000 people coming through our gates,” he said, adding that last year they had close to 50,000 attendees.
According to Nichols, the event will feature live entertainment, a beer garden in the evenings and a variety of animal shows, including horses, cattle, goats, sheep, rabbits and poultry, as well as exotic animals.
There will also be a parade, junior firefighter challenge, line dancing, wagon rides, a midway and more.
Admission is $5 on Friday and $10 on Saturday and Sunday. For more information or to buy tickets, click here.
