The Bracebridge Fall Fair will be happening September 12 to 14 at the Bracebridge Fairgrounds.
The Fall Fair has been a Bracebridge tradition for over 156 years and offers a variety of rides, music performances, vendors, a beer garden and so much more.
President of the Agricultural Society, Dave Nichols says every year they try to bring in new attractions as well as ones they have always had. For the last 15 years, they have also not raised their prices and do their best to keep the fair economical.
Nichols says one of the most special aspects of the Fall Fair is community.
“You can go through the course of a year, and you won’t run into people,” said Nichols. “But you always run into them at the fair – so that’s one of my favorite things, seeing people you haven’t seen in a long time.”
He says his team and himself work very hard to put on a good show to bring the community together and bring people from outside into our community too. However, this year they are having a hard time finding volunteers to help.
“We have struggled getting volunteers in the last few years, and that’s my worry down the road – if we run out of volunteers we may struggle to put on a nice show.”
He says anyone, including students who are looking to gain some volunteer hours, can stop by their office or apply online.
