New batting cage and bullpens unveiled at McCulley-Robertson Diamond Complex in Huntsville

The Muskoka Hornets Baseball Association has officially opened a new batting cage and bullpens at the Selkirk Diamond in the McCulley-Robertson Diamond Complex.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 4 at Selkirk Diamond, where members of the Muskoka Hornets were joined by Town of Huntsville staff Tina Scott-Burns and Simone Babineau to celebrate the completion of the project.

The batting cage and bullpens were developed through a partnership between the Muskoka Hornets and the Town of Huntsville, with financial support from the town and a donation from Huntsville Municipal Accommodation Tax Association.

“As a baseball enthusiast who wants to see the sport flourish in our community, I cannot stress enough how important the addition of a batting cage and bullpens will be to minor baseball in Muskoka,” said Muskoka Hornets President Peter Haynes.

The additions build on recent upgrades to the complex, including improvements to the fencing, dugouts, and playing surface.

The new facilities will be used from July 9 to 11 as the Muskoka Hornets host the 18th annual Muskoka Cup for the 14U division. The tournament will run alongside Huntsville Sports Hall of Fame member Stan Rimmington’s annual fastball tournament.
