Athletes from across the region will be heading to Huntsville this weekend as the annual TriMuskokan returns.
The event will take place on Sunday, beginning at the Canada Summit Centre.
Since its inaugural event in 2016, organizers say TriMuskokan has grown into a popular local tradition, welcoming both returning athletes and first-time participants. The course is designed to provide a challenge while maintaining a supportive, energetic, and fun atmosphere.
Organizers say the race will offer upbeat music and cheering supporters along the course, and a celebration with food and refreshments for participants afterwards.
The event offers several ways to take part, including a short-course triathlon, duathlon options featuring swim-bike or bike-run combinations, and a Try-a-Tri event for those looking to experience a taste of what the race entails. A relay option is also available for athletes to compete in the short-course triathlon with family members, friends, or coworkers.
The Town of Huntsville is reminding residents that several road closures will be in effect on race day, affecting areas near the Canada Summit Centre, Brunel Road, and the Brunel Road Locks Bridge. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.
