Babb Family Splash Pad in Baysville opens June 20

The Township of Lake of Bays is officially opening the Babb Family Splash Pad, offering the community a free and accessible way to stay cool this summer.

The long-awaited splash pad opens to the public on June 20 at the Lake of Bays Community Centre and Arena in Baysville.

To mark the occasion, the township will host an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., with free refreshments and hot dogs. Immediately following the ceremony, the splash pad will be fully operational and open for public use.

According to township officials, residents may notice the splash running periodically in the days leading up to the opening, as crews perform system testing, staff training, and safety checks to ensure everything is functioning properly.

Officials say the Babb Family Splash Pad was made possible in part through a generous contribution from the family of Hager and Edna Babb, recognizing the important role the Lake of Bays community played in their lives.
