Lake of Bays library reopens, community centre and arena remain closed

The Township of Lake of Bays has announced the public library in Baysville has officially reopened, following a temporary closure of the facility.

According to township officials, crews have successfully bypassed the affected maintenance room that houses several critical building components needed to operate the facility. The work has allowed the library portion of the building to reopen while repairs and assessments continue in other areas.

Library services and programs will resume, and visitors can now access the building through the Carol Street entrance.

The arena and community centre remain closed to the public, including lacrosse and pickleball programming. A section of the parking lot also remains fenced off and inaccessible.

Township staff said they are working through remaining issues and hope to reopen additional areas later this week.
