Spring road maintenance underway in Huntsville

After a long winter and recent flooding, the Town of Huntsville has launched its annual road maintenance program.

The town says now that spring has arrived, residents can expect to see typical seasonal road conditions, including potholes, soft shoulders, frost heaves, and muddy gravel roads.

Officials say public works crews have already begun regular maintenance activities, including pothole repairs and street sweeping, with work set to continue over the coming weeks. Additional crews and equipment have been deployed to help address road issues as efficiently as possible.

“We’ve experienced a long, hard winter and a tough spring,” said Randy Bissonette, Director of Operations for the Town of Huntsville. “With more than 385 kilometres of roads to maintain, we prepare for this work every year. Additional crews and equipment are ready to help tackle repairs as quickly as possible, ensuring our roads are in the best possible condition for the season ahead.”

Officials are asking for patience as the work progresses and remind motorists to adjust to changing road conditions and give crews plenty of space while work is underway.
