Two planned outages to take place across Lake of Bays

Two planned Hydro One power outages are scheduled in the Township of Lake of Bays, with one set for March 1 and the other for March 4.

According to officials, the outages are to allow crews to safely complete maintenance on local equipment to keep the system safe and reduce the risk of longer, unplanned outages in the future.

The first outage is scheduled for March 1 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the northern part of Lake of Bays, affecting approximately 1,924 customers.

The second one is scheduled for March 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Port Cunnington area, affecting about 346 customers.

Town officials advise affected residents to ensure appliances, such as stoves, are turned off, to fully charge cellphones and other essential devices, and to use a battery-powered alarm clock or cellphone for wake-up alarms.
