Huntsville Festival of the Arts appoints new managing director

The Huntsville Festival of the Arts is celebrating a new chapter with the appointment of Justine Brown as the new Managing Director.

Brown will work alongside Artistic Director Dan Watson as HfA’s senior administrative leader, overseeing fundraising, finances, and membership while supporting the organization’s artistic and community goals.

“I’m so thrilled to be working with Justine,” Watson said. “She brings a wealth of skills and experience, as well as deep connections in this community.”

Brown served on the volunteer board for the HfA from 2012 to 2016, which provided her with firsthand insight into the organization and its mission. She is the co-owner of FITT Events and planned and led Band on the Run for eight years. She also operated What’s Inside Solutions, a full-service marketing company providing creative and strategic services to small and medium-sized businesses.

Brown has been traveling with her partner in recent years, while running an online business, Reboot with Real Foods, which delivers a comprehensive nutrition education program. She is now returning to Huntsville to join HfA at what the organization describes as a pivotal moment.

“HfA has always held a special place in my heart,” said Brown. “I’m incredibly excited to return to Huntsville and step into this role at such an important time for the organization. I look forward to working alongside the team, artists, volunteers, and community to help ensure HfA continues to thrive and inspire for years to come.”

To welcome Brown to her new role, HfA will host an informal meet-and-greet at Canvas Brewery on January 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. The event is open to the public, with no RSVP required.
