Lake of Bays Township accepting applications for 2026 Community Improvement Plan incentive programs

The Township of Lake of Bays is now accepting applications for its 2026 Community Improvement Plan incentive programs, aimed at supporting property owners in enhancing village core areas in Baysville, Dorset, Dwight, and Hillside.

“A strong Township starts with strong businesses and steady, thoughtful development in our village areas,” said Morgan Lonsdale, Economic Development Officer. “The challenge is that a lot of the projects that would really benefit the community are simply out of reach for one owner to take on alone. The CIP helps bridge that gap. It gives people the boost they need to move forward, and the whole community feels the impact when those improvements happen.”

Eligible applicants may qualify for grants covering up to 50 per cent of project costs, to a maximum of $5,000. Loans of up to $10,000 are also available, depending on the type and scope of the project.

Projects eligible for funding include storefront improvements such as painting, signage and accessibility upgrades; building enhancements that support business operations or expansion; and the creation of attainable housing units.

Applications are accepted twice annually, with intake periods running from January to March and from July to September.

Before submitting an online application, a pre-consultation with the program coordinator must be booked at lakeofbays.on.ca/cip
