Skating trail at Huntsville’s Arrowhead Provincial Park opening January 16

Beginning January 16, Muskoka residents and visitors can skate through a 1.3 kilometre trail lit by hundreds of torches surrounded by snow-covered evergreens at Huntsville’s Arrowhead Provincial Park.

The Fire & Ice Trail will be open every Friday and Saturday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the entire winter season, weather permitting. The same trail is open for daytime skates every day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Fire & Ice Trail has attracted an abundance of visitors in previous years and was named one of the most stunning natural ice-skating rinks in the world by Travel and Leisure in 2023.

Arrowhead Provincial Park is home to a variety of trails and offers other activities during the winter months including cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and hiking. Rentals are available at the Rental Pavilion beside the Visitor Centre.

Visitor permits sell out quickly, so park officials recommend visitors book them in advance at ontarioparks.ca
