Haunting on Williamsport returns for its fifth annual celebration in support of The Table Soup Kitchen

Haunting on Williamsport will return for its fifth annual celebration in support of The Table Soup Kitchen on Oct. 30 and 31.

Kathryn Sanga, one of the event organizers, said the purpose of the event is to help raise awareness and funds and get some shelves of the local food bank stocked before the holidays.

“The table is a great organization here in town, and without them, there are so many families in need that would go without,” said Sanga. “If we’re able to help out in any small way, we are happy to do so.”

Sanga said she and her family started this event because they all love Halloween and wanted to do something fun while also giving back to the community.

She said over the years they have had a great response from the community, sponsors and volunteers and added last year they had about three truckloads of food and about $600 in monetary donations.

“All you have to do is just come out, bring a little donation for the table, and just come one out and the scarers are ready for you on the trail,” said Sanga.

The event will be held on Williamsport Road from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
