YWCA Muskoka raises $27,000 through its first ever ladies’ charity golf tournament

The YWCA Muskoka raised $27,000 to support its programs and outreach services through its first ladies’ charity golf tournament, ‘Swing for Your Sisters’.

The event was held on September 10 at North Granite Ridge Golf Club in Port Sydney.

“The day was uplifting, joyful – a true celebration of women supporting women,” said Hannah Lin, YWCA Muskoka Executive Director.

According to officials, 63 permanent and seasonal residents gathered to support the organizations’ 16 programs, which assist girls, boys, women, and low-income community members throughout the region.

“The organization operates without ongoing core government funding and needs to fundraise close to $1 million every year for programs and services,” said Lin. “We are thankful to all the golfers, event sponsors, volunteers, silent auction contributors and other donors who contributed to make our first golf tournament a success.”

According to officials, the event is expected to run again next year.
