The South Muskoka Shield has new owners

PJ Drouillard, Courtney Doron and David Ryan sealed the deal January 24, buying the team from Ken Girard. Part of the news is Frank Demasi becoming GM of the Shield, although the ex-pro from Europe will remain with the Bracebridge Phantoms as head coach for the rest of their season. The amount of the purchase is being kept private. Drouillard says the focus is on bringing the Russell Cup back to Gravenhurst. He adds that they want to build a competitive team and solid hockey program.
