Bracebridge election turnout trending lower than previous years

Town of Bracebridge election turnout is trending lower than in previous years.

That is, according to town officials who said voter turnout is currently lower than it was during the 2022 municipal election.

Officials said eligible voters are encouraged to cast their ballot early and not wait until Election Day.

The Town said early participation can help prevent delays and ensure voters have time to resolve any registration or voting issues before voting closes.

To assist residents, the town is offering extended Voter Help Centre hours leading up to the close of voting.

The Voter Help Centre will have extended hours on Oct. 22 and 23, operating from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Hours will also be extended on Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The 2026 Municipal Election is being conducted entirely through internet and telephone voting.

Town officials said voters can visit the centre for assistance with voter registration, voter information, or obtaining replacement voting credentials.

Officials said computers are available at the centre for those who require assistance.

The Town said residents who have not received their voter information letter by mail can use the online Voter Registration Portal to update their information and receive their voting credentials by email.
