OPP Auxiliary members hold food drive Oct. 3

A one-day food drive supporting local food banks and helping address food insecurity across the province is coming up this weekend.

The Muskoka Ontario Provincial Police Auxiliary unit members are holding Operation FULL PLATE on Saturday (Oct. 3).

Non-perishable food items and other essential goods are being accepted at Sobeys in Gravenhurst from 9 a.m. to noon, at Your Independent Grocer in Bracebridge from 10 a.m. to noon, and at Your Independent Grocer in Huntsville from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Serving communities has been at the heart of the OPP Auxiliary Program for more than 65 years,” OPP Auxiliary officials said in a statement. “Operation FULL PLATE builds on that tradition of service by bringing Auxiliary members and the communities they serve together to support local food banks and help address food insecurity challenges affecting people in Muskoka.”
