The Ontario government is investing $45,000 to expand and improve the Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame’s exhibit in Muskoka Lakes.
Ann Curley, Executive Director of the Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame, made the announcement at the exhibit on Sept. 18.
Curley said the funding was made available through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC), which aims to help boost regional economies and increase tourism across the North.
She said the support has helped enhance the visitor experience through engaging signage, bilingual interactive exhibits and display panels, Braille signage for visually impaired visitors, and an Indigenous storytelling trail.
“Together, these additions create a more inclusive, accessible, and engaging experience for visitors of all ages and abilities,” she said.
The exhibit opened in 2024, and since then, Curley said it has celebrated the rich history of Canadian boat racing, honouring the achievements and innovations of Canadian drivers, designers and boat builders.
The organization’s facility offers displays and immersive exhibits featuring iconic raceboats in an inclusive and accessible environment.
Graydon Smith, MPP for Parry Sound–Muskoka, said the funding will help ensure that more people can fully enjoy everything the exhibit has to offer.
“I’m grateful to the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation for recognizing the value of this project and helping make these improvements possible,” he said.
