The Alzheimer Society of Muskoka is set to launch a third session of its Adult Day Program on Sept. 21.
According to officials, the decision follows two successful sessions and “overwhelmingly positive” feedback from participants.
Officials said the program is making a difference for people living with dementia and their caregivers, with continued demand highlighting the importance of accessible respite and social opportunities for families.
In the previous sessions, officials said participants have embraced the opportunity to socialize, stay active and take part in engaging activities, while caregivers have gained time to breathe, recharge and attend to their own needs.
The program is an eight-week session open to the public, offered on Mondays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at The Pines Long-Term Care home in Bracebridge.
Participants are encouraged to attend either of those days.
Registration is now open for the third session. For more information or to register, call (705) 645-5621 Ext 110 or email acameron@alzheimermuskoka.ca.
