The annual NyDock DockFest saw another successful event this summer, raising $50,000 in support of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation’s Raise Muskoka Campaign.
The family-friendly event featured a parade through downtown Huntsville, the iconic bathtub races and waterski show on the Muskoka River, and an outdoor market in River Mill Park with children’s games, food vendors, and live music.
“Spending the day volunteering at the Rotary NyDock DockFest was a wonderful reminder of what makes Muskoka such a special place,” said Mike Harrower, Raise Muskoka Campaign Co-Chair. “The energy, generosity, and community spirit on display were incredible.”
Raise Muskoka is a community-driven fundraising campaign led by the Huntsville Hospital Foundation (HHF). Officials say the campaign supports plans to build a new Huntsville hospital to ensure residents and visitors continue to have access to exceptional healthcare across Muskoka.
“This was an extraordinary example of what can happen when a community comes together,” said Katherine Craine, CEO of HHF. “Every dollar raised brings us one step closer to building a new Huntsville hospital that will serve our community for generations to come.”
Officials say the success of DockFest was made possible through the dedication of dozens of volunteers, local sponsors, and community members.
“NyDock has always believed in giving back to the community that has supported us for so many years,” said Jan Nyquist, owner of NyDock. “A new hospital will benefit all of us, and it’s an honour to be part of building a healthier future for Muskoka.”
