Marc Mantha joins Gravenhurst mayoral race

Marc Mantha has officially announced his candidacy to become the next mayor of Gravenhurst.

He made the announcement on a social media post on Aug. 10.

Mantha said that after listening to the community and attending meetings and events around town, as well as speaking with friends and neighbours, he heard residents’ concerns, hopes and ideas for the town they all call home.

According to Mantha, he is running for mayor to address those concerns, take action now and lay the groundwork for Gravenhurst’s future. He said that means listening, planning thoughtfully, setting ambitious goals and, most importantly, working together.

“The decisions we make today will shape the community future generations inherit tomorrow,” he shared in the social post.

As of May 29, there are four mayoral candidates registered in Gravenhurst. Candidates have until Friday, August 21, to file their nominations.

The municipal election is Oct. 26.
