UPDATE: Province invests nearly $1.5 million to help MBRP build and reshore critical supply chains to Ontario

The province is investing nearly $1.5 million to help Huntsville-based company MBRP build and reshore critical supply chains to Ontario.

Officials say the company, which manufactures and distributes high-performance aftermarket exhaust systems and accessories for automotive and powersports vehicles, is investing nearly $3 million to launch a new line of truck accessories, insource flat-cut and bent component manufacturing, and reshore exhaust tip manufacturing from China, all while upgrading infrastructure to support new production capacity.

According to officials, the project will also create 18 new jobs.

MPP Graydon Smith says MBRP’s investment will help the company adapt, stay competitive and continue to create good jobs, all while helping make Ontario’s economy more competitive and self-reliant.

The province’s funding is through the Ontario Together Trade Fund.

“Equipment is important, but the real investment is in people,” says Joshua Barkey, Chief Operations Officer at MBRP. “Programs like the Ontario Together Trade Fund create opportunities for our employees to learn, grow and build careers right here in Muskoka, while helping strengthen manufacturing and create long-term opportunities in our community.”
