Shriners Parade returns to Huntsville in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children

The Shriners Parade returns to Huntsville this weekend in support of children’s healthcare.

The annual event takes place tomorrow (June 13) starting at 1 p.m. along Main Street in downtown Huntsville.

Officials say the event will feature 22 Shriners clubs from across Ontario who will be riding through the street on minibikes, go-karts, fire engines, and more.

Following the parade, attendees are invited to attend the Après Parade Oasis at Canvas Brewing Co. Shuttle service will be available from the ceremonial hotels.

Motorists are being advised to plan ahead, as the parade will result in several road closures throughout the downtown core.

Main Street will be closed from Yonge Street to Chaffey Street from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. John Street from Main Street to Manominee Street will be closed from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Barricades will be in place and detour signage will direct traffic around the closures.

Officials say Shriners International is a fraternal charitable organization and funds raised through the parade and other initiatives help support Shriners Hospitals for Children, which provide specialized pediatric care.
