The 2026 Gravenhurst Triathlon and Duathlon return on June 13 and 14 at the Muskoka Wharf Sports Fields.
The event is organized by the MultiSport Canada Triathlon Series and includes swim, bike, and run courses over the two-day span.
According to officials, the race has been one of the organization’s most “sought-after events” in its history for more than 10 years. This year it was moved to June to take advantage of quieter roads in Muskoka before the start of the busy summer season.
The event features a swim course with long straight sections and the sun at your back. As it takes place in June, wetsuits are recommended, with water temperatures expected to range between 19°C and 21°C.
It also includes a bike course. Starting from Muskoka Wharf, participants travel along Muskoka Road 169 on an out-and-back route to the turnaround point. The road features long steady grades, paved shoulders of varying width, and clear sightlines for both cyclists and motorists. This is a shared-road course, so participants are reminded to follow all safe riding practices.
Additionally, the race features a run course that begins along the pathways at Muskoka Wharf Sports Park and continues toward North Muldrew Lake Road, where the hills begin. Known as one of the more challenging courses in the series, it features continuous climbs and descents throughout.
On June 13, the Olympic Triathlon and International Distance Duathlon will take place. Activities begin at 6 a.m. and run until around noon, concluding with awards for both events.
On June 14, the Sprint Triathlon and Sprint Duathlon will take place. Activities will begin at 6:15 a.m. and wrap up shortly before noon, followed by awards for both races.
