Lake of Bays invites public input as Official Plan review nears completion

The Township of Lake of Bays has reached Phase 5 of its Official Plan review and is inviting residents and stakeholders to have their say.

According to township officials, the Official Plan outlines the municipality’s policies on land use and development, helping ensure future growth reflects community needs while aligning with current provincial policies.

Phase 5 includes a revised draft of the new Official Plan, which is now available for public review and comment. Officials say the latest version incorporates public feedback gathered so far, along with direction from council, Indigenous communities, district staff, and other stakeholders.

The updated document includes revised District and Provincial policies, background information, and recommendations developed through earlier discussion papers and policy reports. Officials note that public input has played a key role in shaping the plan and will continue to influence its final form.

A statutory public meeting is scheduled for April 28 at 11 a.m. to give residents an opportunity to provide formal comments. Participants can attend in person at Council Chambers or virtually via Zoom.

To view the Official Plan and provide feedback, visit the township’s website.
