Three arrested after liquor store theft in Huntsville

The people have been charged after a theft from a Huntsville liquor store.

According to Bracebridge OPP, on Dec. 17, at 9 a.m., officers were made aware of a theft in which the suspects made off with almost $3,500 worth of alcohol products from the store.

Due to the nature of the theft, Bracebridge officers said they conducted proactive patrols of the Bracebridge store, located on Muskoka Road 118.

Police said that at around 10 a.m., three suspects in a vehicle were located in a commercial parking lot on Muskoka Road 118, near the store.

While one suspect was quickly arrested after attempting to flee on foot, the remaining two escaped in their vehicle.

Officers said the other suspects later returned to the area at 3:00 a.m. They were arrested and safely taken into custody.

As a result, a 28-year-old from Brampton, 24-year-old from Woolwich Township and 30-year-old from Toronto are all facing a handful of charges, including possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and obstructing a peace officer.

All three accused were held for a bail hearing on Dec. 18.
