Ryan Reynolds and family visit Muskoka Drive In Theatre

Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively and two of their children attended a movie at the Muskoka Drive-In Theatre on Aug. 20.

William Alexander, owner of the Drive-In, said they delayed the public announcement for two weeks to avoid disturbing their family time.

“Blake kept talking about how she was super excited to be at the drive-in and she wanted to see the snack bar and the whole nostalgic feel of the place,” said Alexander. “Ryan was talking about his first experience of the drive-in, because he’s from Vancouver. He was talking about a drive-in, and then I told him which one it was.”

Alexander said it was fun to see them as a family watching a movie in their Drive-in theatre, adding they tried to keep interactions to a minimum to avoid getting them overwhelmed.

“I think with all the stuff that they’ve had going on in their lives lately, they’re entitled to a night without paparazzi, without people chasing them, without people bugging them,” said Alexander.

He said that while their motto is to “see movies under the stars,” this was one of the few times the actual stars came down and visited them.

“You never know what can happen,” he said.
