Labour Day closures in effect on Monday

With the long weekend comes the usual stat holiday closures on Monday.

That includes most retail outlets and government offices, like town hall.

Town of Bracebridge officials say the following will be closed on September 1 but will resume at their regular hours on Tuesday September 2.

  • Municipal Office
  • Bracebridge Fire Station 1
  • Bracebridge Library
  • Bracebridge Sportsplex
  • Muskoka Lumber Community Centre

Bracebridge transit will not be operational on Labour Day but will be back on regular schedule Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.

Officials are reminding the public that fireworks are not permitted on Labour Day. The municipal bylaw only allows fireworks on Victoria Day and Canada Day, and the day immediately preceding and following the holiday.

The holiday’s impact on municipal services varies across the region. Check your local municipal website for closures in your area.
