Ontario Amateur Softball Association U11 Provincials taking place in Bracebridge Aug. 15-17

The Ontario Amateur Softball Association (OASA) will be making its way to Bracebridge’s Peak Fields for the U11 provincial tournament from August 15 to 17.

According to Bracebridge Minor Ball Committee member Andrew Scott, 20 teams from eastern and western Ontario with boys and girls ages 10 and 11 will play a total of 42 games over the course of the three-day tournament.

He said the previous tournament took place in Owen Sound and while it was a great experience for the children, he wanted a chance to bring that experience to town.

“I put together a package – knowing we have Peak Fields…it’s a great facility,” said Scott. “I put together a package late 2024… to host either the qualifier or the provincial – and lo and behold Bracebridge got selected to host the provincial tournament.”

According to Scott, this is a free event, and he believes this will be good for the community.

He says there will be snacks, water and they will be selling OASA merchandise.

Scott says the opening ceremony will be taking place on August 16 at 10 a.m. with a local musician singing the national anthem.

The schedule:

  • August 15 – 1 – 8 p.m.
  • August 16 – 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • August 17 – 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
