Children’s Foundation of Muskoka receives $5,000 donation from Summer Water Sports

Summer Water Sports Muskoka has donated $5,000 to support the Children’s Foundation of Muskoka.

Geordie Newlands, owner of SWS Muskoka, said the company donated a portion of its new boat and jet ski sales from June to the local organization. The funds were presented at the Water Ski Show in Bala on August 5.

“We’re passionate about helping grow and develop happy and healthy youth in Muskoka,” said Newlands. “We put a lot of emphasis on our fundraising campaigns about helping children in the Muskoka area.”

With this, he hopes more businesses and people will know about the Foundation and support the local charities to ensure that every child in Muskoka has the chance to thrive.

“The more people that know about Children’s Foundation of Muskoka, the more lives that we’re able to enrich,” said Newlands.

According to officials, every dollar donated will directly support children by providing essentials (clothing, food, and school supplies), access to sports, music, and art lessons, as well as camp experiences and scholarships.

Foundation officials said, “Every dollar goes straight to supporting essentials, opportunities, and brighter futures for local kids.”
