Indigenous Awareness Training with Kelly Brownbill
Seven complimentary Indigenous Awareness Workshops with Kelly Brownbill are scheduled between April and June 2022.
Seats are open to staff, board members and volunteers of Muskoka-based agencies, associations, non-profits, charities, as well as to residents of Muskoka.
Each workshop is four hours long and is being taught by Kelly Brownbill, an Indigenous Educator with over 20 years of experience helping organizations across Ontario become more culturally competent in offering services to Indigenous Peoples.
Workshops will be live and interactive, but delivered remotely by Zoom. To ensure an optimal learning experience, seats are limited.
This free training opportunity is being offered in response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action and as part of the District of Muskoka’s commitment to improving relations with Indigenous Peoples, as well as ensuring Muskoka is a place that promotes inclusion and equity, celebrates diversity and is actively working to combat systemic racism.
These workshops are being offered as a partnership between the District of Muskoka, the Muskoka Area Indigenous Leadership Table (MAILT) and the Muskoka Community Foundation.
