Local Writers’ Book Launch in Support of Baysville Library

November 5 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

On Tuesday, November 5, 7 pm, the Baysville Public Library hosts the library’s Writers’ Circle as they launch their first collection of poetry, short stories, musings, essays, reflections, and memoir. The project was undertaken by the group to thank the library and staff for their support over the years. Sales of the books will benefit the Friends of the Library and be used to purchase much needed audio books.
Since 2000, the group of creative individuals has gathered monthly at the Baysville Public Library to share their words and receive feedback and encouragement from one another. Today, the group includes both published and novice writers, wordsmithing in a variety of genres, from adult and children’s fiction, fantasy and romance, to poetry, memoir, faction, and historic fiction. Some members simply enjoy the social and creative support of the group. The overriding purpose of the group is to encourage both new and more seasoned writers to achieve their writing goals through positive critiquing whether the individual hopes to be published, to share his/her creations with friends and family or, to write for personal enjoyment.
The Long and the Short of It is the result of many solitary hours spent at the computer, or with pen and paper, as well as the monthly hours together helping one another hone their craft.
The public is invited to meet the authors, hear readings from the book, enjoy refreshments. and purchase books for themselves and as gifts for family and friends.
