Bracebridge and Huntsville OPP experienced quite the traffic blitz over the past day.

On Thursday, officers from both detachments combined their efforts to address aggressive speeding along the Highway 11 corridor of Muskoka.

Police say 18 drivers were issued tickets for excessive speed, travelling at minimum 35 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.

OPP say any driver travelling at a rate higher than 50 km/hr over the posted speed limit faces a penalty for street racing.

That includes an automatic seven-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
