McMullen, who is interested in making the trip as both a journalist and as a humanitarian, says a donation of $50 buys a bike. She’ll be making the trip with other locals, including Alex Tilley, inventor of the world famous Tilley hat, Gravenhurst resident Lola Bratty and soldiers from Base Borden in Barrie. Hundreds of pairs of glasses and toothbrushes will also be sent over as part of the initiative. If you want to donate to this year’s ‘Wheels for Learning’ trip, you can send a $50 cheque to the Gravenhurst Rotary Club at Box 888 Gravenhurst, Ontario, P1P 1V2 care of the Wheels for Learning’ project.
