A war vet who owns property in the area has spoken personally with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne about issues surrounding Bala Falls. Tim McDonald took the opportunity at a recent meet and greet in the city to share his views with Wynne. He spoke about Wahta First Nation’s ongoing concern that they have not been consulted with adequately enough by the different levels of government about controversial plans to put a hydro plant in at the falls. McDonald is still in contact with Wynne’s personal assistant on the issue. He and others also continue to lobby the provincial and federal governments on the issue.
