Changes to Smoke-Free Ontario Act in effect Friday
It’s going to be harder to be a smoker in Ontario starting Friday. Changes to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act means it will be illegal to smoke on bar and restaurant patios as well as playgrounds and public sports fields. They’re also making it illegal to sell tobacco on university and college campuses. Medical Officer of Health with the HKPR district health unit, Dr. Lynn Noseworthy says this will give more chances to prevent people from starting to smoke.
