Family ready to move in to Seguin Habitat for Humanity Home

The Habitat for Humanity home in Seguin has a family ready to move in. Jennifer Holmes and Ryan Bernas and their children have been selected by Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North, Parry Sound Chapter. The criteria for a family to be eligible for a Habitat home is an assessment of need, they must meet income guidelines and show they will be able to pay an interest-free mortgage once the house is completed, and show a willingness to partner meaning they must contribute 500 sweat equity hours to the building of their home. Parry Sound Steering Committee chair Hans de Vries says it’s about working to break the cycle of poverty through affordable home ownership one house and one family at a time. This home renovation project in Seguin was made possible through the generous donation of a home by Walter and Maria Schneider.
