GRAVENHURST, ON – Beaver Creek Institution is on lockdown as officials investigate the death of an inmate.
Correctional Service Canada (CSC) isn’t saying how 29-year-old Robert Ryan died, just that it happened on Sunday and visitation has been suspended until the investigation is complete.
Ryan was serving eight years for robbery, break and enter, assault and firearms charges. He had been in prison for three years.
CSC didn’t indicate how long it will take to resume normal operations but said they will once the situation is deemed safe enough.
Both OPP and CSC are investigating the death.
