Construction could begin this summer on the controversial hydro station in Bala Falls. Swift River Energy Ltd. Director, Frank Belerique says the first phase of construction is set to begin in June.

Belerique says the biggest issue they’ve had with the project is the eight years it’s taken to get to where they are today. However, Swift River has also had many difficulties sustaining a relationship with the Wahta First Nation. Belerique has more.

Despite the friction they’ve experienced with Wahta First Nation, Belerique says Swift River has met many supporters in the area as well.
