Cottage company wins prestigious award

MUSKOKA, ON-A local luxury cottage company has received a prestigious award for entrepreneurs.

On November 20th, Jayne McCaw, President of Jayne’s Cottages was given the 2019 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Start Up Award at the 27th Annual RBC Gala in Toronto.

The award recognizes a female entrepreneur who has developed a successful business in a minimum of three years and is ready for the next step to advance their company.

In an interview with the MyMuskokaNow.com newsroom Jayne McCaw, said that her company features a unique way of experiencing Muskoka and other cottage vacation spots in the way that they “operate it in the way that no one has to actually take care of the cottage, we manage the bed sheets, towels and keep it clean.”

McCaw said that when she started out she was in a bad place but after following the example of another home renter, she wanted to start her own business, “I was in a bad spot in my life where I worked for a tech company but I had this idea in Muskoka for three years about starting this business.” said McCaw.

When asked about if she has any suggestions to give to other women who may be in the same position she was, she said to just go out and follow their passion, “if you have an idea then you should go for it.”
